THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMOTIONAL REGULATION AND THE SEVERITY OF PRIMARY DYSMENORRHEA IN ADOLESCENT GIRLS AT STATE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 1 NGAWI
Abstract
Dysmenorrhea is caused by strong and consistent contractions that occur in the’uterine wall and an increase in the hormone prostaglandin.PDysmenorrheaPcan result in unbearable pain and poor emotional control. This study aims to observe and analyzePthe relationshipPbetween emotional regulation andPthe degreePof primary dysmenorrhea painPinPfemalePadolescents at SMAPNegeriP1 Ngawi. ThisPstudy isPan analytical observationalPresearch study withPa cross-sectionalPapproach.PThis study was conductedPat SMAPNegeriP1 Ngawi in October 2024 withPaPsamplePof 174 respondents whoPhadPmetPthePinclusionPcriteria. Data collectionPwasPcarriedPout byPfillingPout aPquestionnaire and then the dataPwasPanalyzed statisticallyPusingPthe Spearman Rho Test.PThe Spearman Rho test shows aPsignificancePvalue (pP= 0.000 (≤ 0.05), ian rPvaluePof -0.765 and a negative correlation direction. Thus, this study reveals a significant correlation between emotional regulation and the severity of primary dysmenorrhea pain among female adolescents at State Senior High School 1 Ngawi.
