PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN ORANGTUA TENTANG PROGRAM ISI PIRINGKU KAYA PROTEIN HEWANI GUNA PENCEGAHAN STUNTING

Background: Stunting refers to a child's height that is not appropriate for their age. In 2021, the stunting rate in Indonesia was 24.4%, while in 2022, it was recorded at 21.6%. Although stunting cases have declined, the rate remains relatively high, prompting the government to target a 14% reduction by 2024. The government has adopted several strategies, including ensuring adequate nutrition, mainly focusing on protein intake. Providing complementary foods to children is an effective way. ‘Isi Piringku’ promotes a balanced diet consisting of 50% fruit and vegetables and 50% carbohydrates and protein, especially animal protein. The aim of this activity is to increase mothers' understanding of the programme and encourage them to serve meals containing animal protein
Community service partners: The community service was conducted at the Al Hasanah PAUD in Magetan Regency, where two cases of stunting in children were identified, and participants' understanding of the Isi Piringku Program was still limited. The community service program was conducted on January 10, 2025.
Methods: by providing information on stunting to 20 participants of the integrated health service post. Before and after the information session, a pre-test and post-test were conducted to assess the participants' understanding of stunting.
Result: Following the information session, participants' understanding of stunting improved, as evidenced by the post-test results, which showed that almost all participants were able to answer all questions.
Conclusion: Good knowledge can change behaviour in consuming animal protein in an effort to prevent stunting.
