EDUKASI KESEHATAN “ZERO ANEMIA” SEBAGAI PENCEGAHAN DAN TATALAKSANA ANEMIA KEHAMILAN

Background: The prevalence of anemia remains high, with the global prevalence of anemia among pregnant women reaching 43.9%. Sungai Beliung Subdistrict, located in West Pontianak District, West Kalimantan Province, is one of the areas where anemia among pregnant women remains a concern. One of the priority health issues in 2024 in this area is that 35.6% of pregnant women do not routinely consume iron (Fe) supplements, and 14.6% of pregnant women are still anemic. This issues is linked to the potential lack of exposure to health information, poor compliance with health recommendations, and unbalanced nutrition during pregnancy. The risk of anemia during pregnancy includes complications such as bleeding during childbirth, low birth weight (LBW), prematurity, as well as maternal and fetal death. Studies have shown that health education can reduce the severity of anemia in pregnant women.
Community service partners: The Community service partnership was carried out in Sungai Beliung Subdistrict in Pontianak Barat
Methods: The community service activity used a pre experimental design and was conducted to determine the level of knowledge pre and post intervention. Sampling was carried out using the acidental sampling technique, resulting in a total sample of 40 pregnant women.
Results: the community service activity resulted in an increase in knowledge scores before and after intervention from 73 to 80.
Conclusion: A comprehensive monitoring strategy can be implemented by increasing attendance in prenatal classes and mothers’ groups through Zero Anemia booklet education in Sungai Beliung Village.
