Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus is associated with various health complications and healthcare visits, resulting in high costs for patients and society. As a result, the worldwide increase in Diabetes Mellitus has become a major issue. One strategy is to provide community-based diabetes education through e-mobile to deliver health interventions. These interventions can reach many individuals in a cost-effective and efficient manner to change behavior. The purpose of this community service activity is to determine the use of community-based diabetes mellitus self-care education through electronic media as an educational tool.
Community service partners: Diabetes Mellitus risk community group in Ceplukan, Karanganyar
Methods: Community-Based Research, where community service is based on research conducted using diabetes self-care education techniques, simulations, and blood sugar screening. Describe the methods and/or stages of implementation of the community service carried out.
Results: E-Dimas was implemented at the Watuburik health center with 37 participants. The volunteers provided community-based education using smartphones. The results of the 60-minute EDIMAS intervention showed an increase in pre-test and post-test scores  in self-care management of 32%-76%  in the good category.
Conclusion: Participants can utilise educational media through e-mobile to improve self-care for prediabetes in the community, and kader can use smartphone educational media as a preventive measure to promote health awareness of diabetes mellitus.
