Background: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health problem in Indonesia, with with a significantly high disease burden. The Kampung Peduli TBC program was developed to encourage active community participation in TB prevention and control through cadre empowerment. This article aims to describe promotive education strategies and cadre-based early screening implemented in Gajahan Urban Village, Surakarta.
Community service partners: Gajahan Health Center, Gajahan Subdistrict Office of Surakarta, IAKMI, and the Gajahan Community Health Kader.
Methods: The implementation methods included coordination with local stakeholders, cadre training, education using printed and digital media, and early screening using a TB symptom questionnaire.
Result: The program resulted in increased cadre capacity increased community coverage of health education" atau "a greater number of educated community members, and identification of suspected TB cases for timely referral.
Conclusion: The TB educational media development program in Gajahan Village produced two important media—leaflets and flipcharts—that can be used by cadres as tools for promotive education. Although this initial stage required a long time due to the intensity of coordination and content validation processes, the results provide a strong foundation for the development of further media and the implementation of early screening more systematically.
